Privacy Policy
TroveTrace is designed around your private metal-detecting records and the choices you make about photos, locations, backups, exports and supported iCloud sync.
This policy applies to the TroveTrace application for iPhone and iPad. Use of the SKAV Digital website is covered separately by the website Privacy Policy.

Who this policy covers
TroveTrace is developed by Stephen Kavazos under the SKAV Digital software brand.
SKAV Digital, operated by Stephen Kavazos (ABN 79 780 711 590), is responsible for this policy. The website is available at https://skav.au.
Section B
Information stored by TroveTrace
TroveTrace stores information that you choose to enter or create.
Depending on how you use the app, this may include:
- find records and hunt records
- names, notes, descriptions, categories and structured find details
- photographs attached to finds or hunts
- favourite or notable-find status
- equipment details or app settings where applicable
- optional location coordinates connected to finds or hunts
- backup and export data that you create
Section C
Local storage
TroveTrace is designed to keep your personal records on your device.
SKAV Digital does not operate a separate account system or developer-controlled database for your TroveTrace collection. Records may also be included in backups, exports or supported Apple iCloud and CloudKit functions that you choose to use.
Section D
iCloud and CloudKit
Where optional sync is enabled, supported TroveTrace data may be stored in your private iCloud database.
Apple provides and operates iCloud and CloudKit. SKAV Digital does not receive your iCloud password. The availability and handling of those services are also subject to Apple's terms, privacy practices, system behaviour and your Apple account settings.
Not every kind of TroveTrace data is necessarily included in sync. You can manage your Apple ID and iCloud settings through the settings provided by Apple on your device.
Section E
Camera and photo library
Camera and photo-library access is used only when you choose to capture or select photographs for your records.
Photographs stored by TroveTrace may be processed or re-encoded to prepare them for app storage and reduce unnecessary embedded metadata, including embedded photo-location metadata. This is not a guarantee that every possible metadata field will always be removed.
Section F
Location information
Location permission is optional and is used to record find or hunt locations when you request that feature.
Exact find locations can be sensitive. Take care when exporting, sharing, displaying or handing records to another person, particularly where the records could reveal private land, valuable finds or places that require protection.
SKAV Digital does not use TroveTrace location data for advertising or tracking.
Section G
Analytics, advertising and sale of data
TroveTrace does not include third-party advertising trackers, sell personal information or use personal find records for targeted advertising.
Apple may separately provide platform-level App Store, crash or diagnostic services according to your Apple settings and Apple's practices. Those Apple systems are not controlled by SKAV Digital.
Section H
Backups, exports and sharing
You may create backups or exports and choose where to save or share them.
A file saved to Files, iCloud Drive, email, Messages or another service is then handled by you and the service you selected. Protect exported files that contain sensitive locations, photographs or personal information, and verify that the destination and recipient are appropriate.
Deleting TroveTrace may remove locally stored data that has not been backed up or synced.
Section I
Support communications
When you contact SKAV Digital, your email address, message and any information you choose to provide may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond and maintain support records.
The current website contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help prevent spam and sends the submitted message through SKAV Digital's email systems. Website contact practices are explained in the website Privacy Policy.

Section J
Retention and deletion
Find, hunt and other records remain available until you delete them using supported app controls, remove the app or use applicable Apple services.
Uninstalling the app removes local app data subject to Apple's operating-system behaviour. Information stored in iCloud may remain until it is removed through TroveTrace or applicable Apple services. Backups and exports you created remain wherever you saved or shared them until you remove them there.
Section K
Security
Reasonable care is taken in the design of TroveTrace, but no electronic storage, device, sync or transmission system can be guaranteed completely secure.
You remain responsible for protecting your device, Apple account, backups, exports and shared files.
Section L
Children
TroveTrace is a general-purpose record-keeping app and is not specifically directed at children.
Section M
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when TroveTrace, relevant services or privacy practices change.
The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised last updated date.
