Privacy Policy
This policy follows Australian privacy principles and aims to handle information in a simple, respectful, and transparent way.
SKAV Digital is committed to keeping things simple, practical, and respectful of your privacy. This policy explains what information may be collected through the Tripometer app and the SKAV Digital website, and how that information is used.

Section A
Who we are
SKAV Digital develops simple, practical apps and website tools, including Tripometer.
Section B
Information collected by the Tripometer app
Tripometer is designed to keep your trip data on your device.
The app does not use advertising trackers and does not sell personal data.
Tripometer may store user-entered or app-created information such as trips, trip stops, route plans, fuel logs, odometer readings, expenses, notes, photos, receipt images, vehicle details, caravan or travel records, and saved places or points of interest where supported.
This information stays on your device unless you choose to back it up, export it, share it, or save it to iCloud Drive or iCloud. SKAV Digital does not receive or store this information unless you choose to send it for support.
Section C
Location, maps, routing, and navigation
Tripometer may use town names, suburb names, place names, coordinates, selected stops, or route information to provide trip planning, map display, route estimates, nearby searches, and navigation features.
Tripometer may use Apple MapKit or Apple Maps for map display, route calculations, location searches, route estimates, map pins, and navigation handoff.
If you choose to open navigation, the selected destination or route may be passed to Apple Maps or your chosen navigation app.
SKAV Digital does not use this information for advertising or tracking. Apple Maps and MapKit usage is subject to Apple's own privacy terms and services.
Section D
Fuel prices
Tripometer may use official or third-party fuel price data sources where available.
To provide nearby or location-based fuel results, the app may send a location search, town or suburb, coordinates, or selected map area to the relevant fuel data provider.
Ask Tripometer may request fuel price lookups when you ask for fuel price information.
Fuel prices may be unavailable, delayed, inaccurate, outdated, or different from the actual price at the service station. You should confirm prices before relying on them.
Section E
Weather forecasts
Tripometer may show weather forecasts for trip planning.
Weather data may come from external weather providers. A town, coordinate, route stop, or selected location may be used to request the forecast.
Ask Tripometer may request weather lookups when you ask for weather information.
Weather forecasts are provided for general travel planning only and may not reflect actual conditions. You should check official warnings and local conditions before travelling, especially in remote areas.
Section F
Receipt images, photos, and documents
If you add receipt images, photos, or documents, those files are stored on your device or in the storage or backup location you choose, such as iCloud Drive where supported.
Tripometer uses on-device receipt scanning and text recognition to help read receipt details and make fuel or expense entry easier. The receipt image and any details read from it remain part of the records you are creating in the app.
SKAV Digital does not access those files or extracted details unless you choose to send them directly for support.
Section G
Backups, exports, and storage
Tripometer stores app data on your device unless you choose another storage, backup, export, or sharing option.
If you choose to back up, restore, export, or share data, that information is sent or saved only as part of your chosen action.
This may include local device storage, user-selected export or share actions, iCloud or iCloud Drive where you choose to use it, and backup or restore files that may contain app data and receipt images.
SKAV Digital does not access those files unless you directly send them for support or another contact request.
Section H
Third-party services
Some Tripometer and website features may use services operated by other providers.
This may include Apple services such as iCloud, sharing features, MapKit, Apple Maps, and navigation handoff, Apple speech recognition, Apple text-to-speech, Apple Intelligence or Foundation Models where available, as well as fuel price data providers and weather data providers where those features are available.
External services may receive the search terms, locations, coordinates, selected map areas, route stops, spoken question text, or other information needed to provide the result you requested. Tripometer may also open external web searches, such as caravan park review searches or fallback fuel searches, when you choose or request that action.
The website uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help protect the contact form from spam and automated abuse. Cloudflare may process limited technical information, such as IP address and browser data, as part of this verification process.
These services are operated by their respective providers and are subject to their own privacy policies and terms.
Section I
Website contact form
The website contact form collects your name, email address, and message.
This information is used only to respond to support or contact enquiries.
Form submissions are processed directly by our website server and sent to our email system. We do not use third-party form handling services to store or process your message content.
To help prevent spam and automated abuse, the contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. This service may process technical information, such as your IP address and browser data, to determine whether a submission is made by a human user. This information is handled by Cloudflare in accordance with their privacy policy.
Section J
Analytics, advertising, and tracking
The website and app are intended to avoid unnecessary tracking.
No in-app advertising is used, and SKAV Digital does not sell personal information.
No website or in-app analytics are currently used.
Section K
Data retention
Contact form messages may be retained as needed to respond to enquiries and keep support records.
Trip data remains under your control and is stored on your device unless you choose to export, share, or back it up.
Section L
Security
Reasonable steps are taken to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Section M
Your choices
You can choose whether to submit the contact form.
You can also choose whether to back up, export, or share app data.
You can manage microphone, speech recognition, location, and other app permissions in iOS Settings.
If you have privacy questions, you can contact SKAV Digital through the website contact page.
Section N
Ask Tripometer, AI, and voice features
Ask Tripometer can help answer questions about trips, fuel, expenses, notes, receipts, trip planning, weather, fuel prices, points of interest, and app navigation.
When you use Ask Tripometer, it may use trip, fuel, expense, notes, receipt, location, weather, fuel price, point of interest, and trip planning data to answer your question. It may also help open app sections or actions you request, such as Add Fuel, Add Expense, Settings, Trip Planner, Trip Map, Trip Records, Tools, POI Database, or Search Trips & Receipts.
Ask Tripometer can also help add an expense through a guided voice or text flow. When you confirm an expense, Tripometer saves the expense details you provided, such as the amount and category, to your trip data. If location access is available, Tripometer may also save the town and state with the expense, in the same way as the manual Add Expense form. Tripometer asks for confirmation before saving an expense.
Ask Tripometer uses Tripometer's local app logic and local phrase matching where available. On supported devices and iOS versions, it may use Apple on-device AI, Apple Intelligence, or Foundation Models to help understand your request and match it to an app answer or action.
Tripometer's own app logic performs calculations and prepares results, including fuel totals, expenses, distances, fuel economy, and trip summaries. Ask Tripometer may also request weather or fuel price lookups using Tripometer's configured providers, search the local point of interest database, or open external web searches when needed for the feature you request.
If you tap the microphone button, Tripometer may request microphone and speech recognition permission. Voice input is started by you, and Tripometer does not continuously listen in the background. During a guided voice flow, Tripometer may listen for your next answer after asking a question, such as the cost, category, or confirmation. Spoken questions and answers are converted into text so Tripometer can process the request. Speech recognition may be handled by Apple services or on-device Apple speech technology, depending on your device and iOS version.
Tripometer can read answers aloud using Apple text-to-speech voices. The selected voices come from voices installed on your device, and any enhanced or premium voices are managed through iOS Settings. Tripometer may store your selected voice preference on your device.
If external AI services are used in the future, this policy will be updated to disclose this.
Section O
Data accuracy and travel information
Trip estimates, routes, weather, fuel prices, points of interest, and travel information are provided for planning assistance only.
You should verify important details before travelling. This is especially important for remote travel, road conditions, weather warnings, fuel availability, road closures, and safety decisions.
While reasonable care is taken, no guarantee is made regarding data accuracy, availability, or loss.
