By downloading or using TroveTrace, you agree to these Terms of Use and any applicable Apple distribution terms.

TroveTrace is provided as a personal record-keeping and organisational tool for metal-detecting finds and hunts. You may use it for lawful personal purposes and must not use it to facilitate unlawful activity or interfere with the app's legitimate operation.

You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of information you enter and for keeping suitable backups of important records.

Notes, locations, categories, research details, collection summaries and exports depend on the information available to the app and the information you provide.

TroveTrace does not grant permission to metal detect, enter land or remove an object.

You remain responsible for:

• obtaining permission from the landowner or occupier
• following applicable Commonwealth, state, territory and local laws
• following rules for parks, reserves, beaches, heritage places and protected areas
• respecting Aboriginal cultural heritage, archaeological and environmental protections
• reporting finds where the law requires it
• establishing whether an item may lawfully be retained, moved, sold or exported

Rules can differ by place and can change. Check current requirements with the relevant landowner, authority or qualified adviser before detecting or acting on a find.

Device location and map information may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed or unavailable.

TroveTrace is not a navigation, surveying, boundary-identification or emergency-safety tool. Do not rely on it to determine land ownership, property boundaries, access rights or safe routes. Independently verify important locations, permissions, boundaries, conditions and routes using appropriate current sources.

Any reference or research information shown by TroveTrace is general informational material only.

TroveTrace does not guarantee a find's identification, age, authenticity, historical attribution, composition, ownership, rarity or monetary value. It is not a replacement for a qualified numismatist, archaeologist, jeweller, valuer, historian, legal adviser or relevant government authority.

TroveTrace does not provide professional valuations, appraisals, authentication certificates or guarantees about an item's market value.

Seek an appropriately qualified person if you need an item professionally identified, authenticated, assessed or valued.

You retain responsibility for the records, photographs and other content you add to TroveTrace.

You must have the right to store, export or share that content and must respect other people's privacy, confidentiality, copyright and other legal rights.

Apple services and any other service you select are governed by their own terms, availability and privacy practices.

iCloud, CloudKit, Maps, Files, email, Messages and other services may change, be interrupted or become unavailable. SKAV Digital does not control those independent services.

Keep appropriate backups of important records and verify exported data and files.

Device failure, accidental deletion, app removal, corrupted files, interrupted sync, incompatible software changes or unavailable services may result in incomplete or lost data. TroveTrace cannot guarantee that data loss, corruption or interrupted services will never occur.

TroveTrace may be updated, modified or discontinued as reasonably necessary.

Features can change because of product development, device or operating-system compatibility, security, third-party services or legal requirements. This section does not remove rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be removed.

The TroveTrace app, website, branding and original content remain the property of SKAV Digital or applicable licensors.

You retain ownership of your own records and photographs. Using the app gives you a licence to use TroveTrace under applicable terms; it does not transfer ownership of the app, website or branding.

TroveTrace is a personal record-keeping tool and is not designed to replace legal, professional, safety or heritage advice.

To the extent permitted by law, SKAV Digital is not responsible for loss resulting from inaccurate user entries, unverified map or research information, missed backups, use outside the app's intended purpose, or a decision to retain, move, sell, export or share a find without obtaining appropriate advice or permission.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a consumer guarantee, right, remedy or liability that cannot legally be excluded, restricted or modified, including under the Australian Consumer Law.

These terms are governed by the laws applicable in New South Wales, Australia.

Nothing in this section removes rights under a law that applies regardless of a contractual choice of law or requires a dispute to be brought only in one particular jurisdiction.

These terms may be updated when TroveTrace, relevant services or applicable requirements change. Updates will be published on this page with a revised last updated date.
