Terms of Use
Plain-English terms for using the app as a personal guide and memory aid.
These terms explain the app's purpose and limits, your responsibility for instructions and content, and important information about backups, iCloud and service availability.
Last updated: 26 August 2026
Section 1
Acceptance and permitted use
By downloading or using How Did I Do That?, you agree to these Terms of Use and any applicable Apple distribution terms.
The app is provided as a personal information, record-keeping and memory aid. You may use it for lawful personal purposes and must not interfere with its legitimate operation or use it to facilitate unlawful activity.
Section 2
Your responsibility for saved instructions
The app retrieves and presents information you previously saved. It does not independently verify that a guide is accurate, complete, current or suitable for a particular situation.
You are responsible for reviewing guides before following them, keeping instructions current, checking the relevant equipment and conditions, and deciding whether a step remains safe and appropriate.
Section 3
Not professional or safety-critical advice
How Did I Do That? is not a substitute for instructions from a manufacturer or for qualified medical, legal, financial, engineering, electrical, mechanical, trade, emergency or other professional advice.
Do not rely on the app as the sole source for a safety-critical task. Stop and use appropriate current instructions or qualified help if a task could cause injury, damage, legal consequences or other serious harm.
Section 4
Verification and previous versions
Labels such as Verified, Not Yet Verified, Changed Since Verified and Last Working Version are personal record-keeping aids based on actions taken in the app.
They are not a professional certification, guarantee or safety assessment. A guide that worked before may become unsuitable because equipment, software, surroundings or other conditions have changed.
Section 5
Search and saved media
Search results and words found in saved photos, voice recordings or videos may be incomplete, inaccurate or unavailable.
Why This Matched helps explain why information you saved appeared in a result; it does not validate an instruction or guarantee that every relevant guide will be found.
Section 6
Your content and permissions
You retain responsibility for the guide text, photographs, voice recordings, videos and other content you add.
You must have the right to record, store, sync, back up, export or share that content and must respect other people's privacy, confidentiality, copyright and other legal rights.
Section 7
Apple, iCloud and third-party services
Apple services and any Files provider or other service you select are governed by their own terms, availability and privacy practices.
iCloud, Files and other Apple or third-party services may change, be interrupted or become unavailable. SKAV Digital does not control those independent services.
Section 8
Backups, restore and data loss
Keep appropriate backups of important guides and verify that a backup has completed and remains available before relying on it.
Device failure, accidental or permanent deletion, app removal, corrupted files, interrupted sync, incompatible software changes or unavailable services may result in incomplete or lost data. The app cannot guarantee that data loss, corruption or interrupted services will never occur. User-created backup files are not password-encrypted by the app.
Section 9
Availability and changes
The app may be updated, modified or discontinued as reasonably necessary.
Features can change because of app updates, device or operating system compatibility, security, third-party services or legal requirements. The app does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, continuous background syncing or instant real-time updates. This section does not remove rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be removed.
Section 10
Intellectual property
The How Did I Do That? app, website, branding and original product content remain the property of SKAV Digital or applicable licensors.
You retain ownership of your own guide text and media. Using the app gives you a licence to use it under applicable terms; it does not transfer ownership of the app, website or branding.
Section 11
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
How Did I Do That? is a personal memory and record-keeping tool. It is not designed to replace professional, manufacturer or safety-critical guidance.
To the extent permitted by law, SKAV Digital is not responsible for loss resulting from inaccurate, incomplete or outdated user-created guides; incomplete media search or other search results; missed backups; unavailable third-party services; or use outside the app's intended purpose.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a consumer guarantee, right, remedy or liability that cannot legally be excluded, restricted or modified, including under the Australian Consumer Law.
Section 12
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable in New South Wales, Australia.
Nothing in this section removes rights under a law that applies regardless of a contractual choice of law or requires a dispute to be brought only in one particular jurisdiction.
Section 13
Contact and updates
These terms may be updated when the app, relevant services or applicable requirements change. Updates will be published here with a revised last updated date.
